Another Day In Pear-a-dice

After being either sick, buried with work, out of town, or all of the foregoing during the month of December, I feel like things are going to get awfully focused and busy for me – and I cannot wait. So excited.

The time in Cambria was wonderful. Very relaxing, and oodles of time to think while on the road. I saw Hearst Castle, which I hadn’t seen at night for a few years, and I don’t recall ever being on a Holiday Lights Tour.

—ooOoo—

I didn’t understand at the time, and I likely recoiled from the idea while reading the words, but I now understand why someone would see me as a person who doesn’t care what other people think – confidence in being able to do my own thing. From tattoos like “I’M DONE” and ‘NOT DOMESTICATED,” to white fingernail polish and earrings, to my over-the-top transparency and website, to my being the black sheep at work, to my love of cross-country motorcycle rides, to dozens of similar things.

I would say it’s more blatant nowadays, with an almost in your face “I’m too old to fucking care” attitude. For example, while talking about my newfound voice on this website, a friend tells me: “Well, at least you don’t use names.” At which time, I had to correct her by responding: “I fucking do now.” And why not? I tried with great diligence to reach out, and after hearing the rumors and reference to rumors, and things said about your humble narrator, I thought why the fuck not tell my story.

It is my story after all. I am that guy in those pictures. These things are true; they are my truth; and truth is, of course, a defense. I hold no ill will. I’ve purged my demons. My side of the street is brilliantly clean. You most surely will never see me cringe while bumping into anyone in the supermarket. It’s all cool here. Right as fucking rain. Quite frankly, I’m more interested in focusing on the future, continuing with my charmed life, so purging a bunch of shit on this website is like putting it on a shelf.
